On 4 December 2025 the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon hosts a Reception at Tivoli Hotel in Celebration of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thailand’s National Day, and Father’s Day of Thailand 2025. On this occasion, H.E. Mrs. Kanokwan Pengsuwan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Portugal invited attendees to observe a solemn moment of silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. A commemorative video was presented, paying tribute to Her Majesty’s enduring legacy and her profound contributions to international diplomacy, the preservation of Thai arts and crafts, cultural heritage, and the advancement of the well-being of the Thai people. The Ambassador delivered remarks honoring the legacy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, while underlined the long-standing of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Portugal which have been marked by more than 500 years of enduring friendship. Building of the solid foundation, the Ambassador reiterated the main tasks of the Embassy, in collaboration with the Portuguese and Thai agencies concerned to strengthen cooperation for the mutual benefits of the two countries in various areas including culture, economics, tourism and development cooperation.

In this regards, the Embassy would like to express its sincere appreciation to more than 200 distinguished guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Portuguese Government and all sectors who contributes to advancing Thai–Portuguese relations, namely the Portuguese academic and private agencies, Thai community, Thai businesspeople and entrepreneurs, professors and students, and friends of Thailand.
