On 12 November 2020, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, together with other ASEAN leaders, attended the official release of the Mid-term Review of the ASEAN Community Vision Blueprints 2025 and the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework as well as the launching of the ASEAN Regional Reserve of Medical Supplies for Public Health Emergencies, during the 37th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits via video conference.

“The Mid-term Review of the ASEAN Community Vision Blueprints 2025” was prepared by the ASEAN Secretariat, comprising the mid-term review of the Blueprints of the three ASEAN Community pillars (Political-Security Community, Economic Community, and Socio-Cultural Community), which was noted by the 37th ASEAN Summit.

“The ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework” (ACRF) was one of ASEAN’s key initiatives on COVID-19. It consists of the Recovery Framework and the Implementation Plan, based on the five broad strategies, namely (1) enhancing health systems, (2) strengthening human security, (3) maximising the potential of intra-ASEAN market and broader economic integration, (4) accelerating inclusive digital transformation and (5) advancing towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

“The ASEAN Regional Reserve of Medical Supplies (RRMS) for Public Health Emergencies” was created to strengthen ASEAN’s preparedness, prevention, detection and timely response to public health emergencies. It consists of earmarked assets of medical supplies as committed by donor countries or other donors, which will be distributed in case of public health emergencies in the region.
