Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Thailand

On 6 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs met with H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Thailand.

Both sides welcomed the close bilateral relations and the continued activities throughout 2025 to commemorate the 170th anniversary of Thailand - United Kingdom diplomatic relations. The Foreign Minister briefed the Ambassador on the latest developments regarding the Thailand - Cambodia border situation and expressed Thailand’s intention for a sustainable ceasefire. The UK side welcomed the ceasefire agreement and expressed its readiness to provide support in various areas, particularly in combating online scams.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the elections in Myanmar, the situation in Venezuela, and the Russia - Ukraine conflict.
