On January 19, 2025, Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, participated in the 2025 National Teachers' Day and Children's Day celebration at the Thai Cultural Center of New York. The event was presided over by Mrs. Suchitra Paleewong, President of the Thai Cultural Center, and attended by approximately 100 participants, including students, parents, teachers, and committee members of the Thai Cultural Center of New York.
During this occasion, the Consul General delivered an inspiring message to the Center's students and expressed her admiration for the Thai Cultural Center's crucial role in preserving Thailand's beautiful cultural heritage. She particularly praised the Center's dedication to instilling a sense of Thai identity and pride among Thai youth born and raised in the United States, helping them embrace their unique cultural heritage.
The Consul General emphasized the significance of Teachers' Day as an expression of gratitude towards teachers who impart knowledge, as well as parents who serve as life's first teachers. She encouraged everyone to continue preserving and passing on this valuable cultural tradition to future generations.
