H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan on 24 - 27 June 2026 at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Yermek Kosherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing the Government’s economic diplomacy agenda to boost trade and investment with Kazakhstan, which is Thailand’s close ally in Central Asia, as well as an important market with strong growth potential.
The Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He will have a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to discuss bilateral issues and sign the Action Plan between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He will also lead a business delegation, comprising 11 leading Thai companies, to attend the Thailand - Kazakhstan Business Forum in Almaty to promote greater engagement between private sectors of the two countries.
Thailand and Kazakhstan enjoy amicable relations. Kazakhstan is Thailand’s largest trading partner and important source of tourists from Central Asia. Both countries will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2027.
