On 22 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, jointly delivered opening remarks at the official opening ceremony of the Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Phuket, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Margulan Baimukan, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Thailand. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Phuket Province, the Deputy Governors from southern provinces of Thailand, representatives of Consulates and Honorary Consulates in Phuket, as well as heads of local authorities.

The Vice Foreign Minister reaffirmed the close and friendly relations between Thailand and Kazakhstan, and highlighted the important role of the Consulate of Kazakhstan in Phuket in further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding collaboration into other areas of mutual interest. He also emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work closely with the Kazakh side to provide assistance to Kazakh nationals residing in or visiting Thailand. The Royal Thai Government reaffirmed its firm commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all visitors in accordance with international safety standards.
