On 9-10 May 2026, The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang, organised mobile consular services in Langkawi, Kedah. to provide consular services such as Thai passports, Emergency Travel Document, national identification card, birth certificate, documents collection, and consular consultations for Thai communities in Langkawi at Wan Thai Restaurant from 09.00 - 18.00 hrs. on 9 May, and from 08.00 - 11.00 hrs. on 10 May. Throughout both days, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang provided services to 39 Thais.

Furthermore, the Royal Thai Consulate-General used this opportunity to held a meeting with the Thai Volunteers in Langkawi Group to discuss about consular assistance, as well as issues and concerns they may have. The Royal Thai Consulat-General also visited Thai communities working in the agricultural area, Thai fishermen and Thais married to Malaysians in Langkawi.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General, Penang, would like to take this opportunity to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the Thai community for their trusts and to the Thai Volunteer Group in Malaysia for their continued support and help to facilitate the mobile consular services.
