Prime Minister of Thailand to pay official visit to Viet Nam and Co-chair the 4th Thailand–Viet Nam Joint Cabinet Retreat

Her Excellency Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, will pay an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam from 15 to 16 May 2025, at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

 

This visit will be Prime Minister Paetongtarn’s first official visit to Viet Nam and reflects Thailand’s commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership with Viet Nam.

 

During the visit, the Prime Minister and her accompanying ministers will participate in the 4th Thailand–Viet Nam Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR), which she will co-chair with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The JCR will serve as a platform for both sides to take stock of progress in bilateral cooperation and chart a comprehensive course of future collaboration. Key areas of discussion will include security, trade and investment, tourism, connectivity, sustainable development, and people-to-people relations.

 

Prime Minister Paetongtarn will meet leaders of Viet Nam to discuss ways to further strengthen various areas of cooperation between the two countries.

 

The visit will also feature the Thailand–Viet Nam Business Forum, which will be co-presided over by the Prime Ministers of both countries. The Forum will provide an opportunity for both Prime Ministers to engage with prominent Thai and Vietnamese business representatives, with a view to promoting two-way investment, strengthening trade ties, and deepening economic cooperation between the two nations.
