Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the European Union in Manila

On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the European Union (EU) on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.
 
Both sides looked forward to the Commemorative Summit on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN - EU dialogue relations in 2027 and welcomed the interest in upgrading relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance for ASEAN and the EU, as major regional blocs, in together upholding the rules-based international order amidst an evolving global landscape, as well as deepening cooperation in key areas, including expediting the conclusion of the ASEAN - EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), advancing the green transition, and combating online scams, with a view to promoting shared prosperity and resilience. He also reaffirmed Thailand’s role as Myanmar’s neighboring country in promoting continued engagement between ASEAN and Myanmar through the calibrated re-engagement approach.
