On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.

The Deputy Prime Minister underscored that ASEAN - UK relations should be anchored in ASEAN centrality, with the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) serving as the framework for promoting practical, inclusive, and mutually beneficial cooperation. He also reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to assume the role of Country Coordinator for ASEAN - UK Dialogue Relations for the 2027 – 2030 term and encouraged both sides to advance cooperation in areas where ASEAN’s priorities and the UK’s strengths are well aligned, such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, combating transnational crime, particularly online scams and cyber-enabled crime, and human capital development.

The Meeting also welcomed the 5th anniversary of ASEAN - UK Dialogue Relations this year and agreed to advance cooperation under the new Plan of Action (2027 - 2031) to foster a more strategic and forward-looking partnership that is responsive to the evolving global landscape and delivers tangible benefits to the people of both sides.
