On 20 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the full bilateral meeting between H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, and H.E. Mr. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, as part of the Prime Minister’s official visit to the People’s Republic of China.

Both sides commended the close and longstanding relations between Thailand and China at all levels and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Thailand–China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. They also announced the establishment of the Thailand–China 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on Security, to be co-chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Ministers of Defence of both countries. The two sides also agreed to enhance cooperation in combating transnational crime, particularly online scam operations. They also exchanged views on promoting cooperation in the areas of the economy, science, technology and innovation (STI), and future industries, including artificial intelligence (AI), clean energy, the digital economy, and people-to-people exchanges, to advance economic growth and improve the quality of life of the peoples of both countries. In addition, both sides exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest, as well as promoting cooperation under the ASEAN-China framework and other multilateral cooperation mechanisms to advance regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.

On the same occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also attended the wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the meeting between the Prime Minister and H.E. Mr. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, and the welcome ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, including the inspection of the military honour guard, as well as the signing ceremony of 15 key agreements and MoUs between Thai and Chinese government agencies, covering cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, public health, science, technology, anti-fraud, education, and media, with the aim of advancing Thai-China cooperation and delivering long-term benefits to the peoples of both countries.
