On 17 December 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, and Mr. Benoît Guidée, Director-General for Asia and Oceania of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, co-hosted the 6th Thailand - France Political Consultations.

The 6th Thailand - France Political Consultations was held at a special occasion since this year marks the 340th anniversary of the first contact between Siam and France, while 2026 will mark the 170th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand - France diplomatic relations. Both sides agreed to leverage these milestone steps to further enhance cooperation across all dimensions, including high-level exchanges, political dialogue, economic cooperation, energy, cybersecurity, culture, education and people-to-people relations. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, as well as cooperation under bilateral and multilateral frameworks. The Thai side also provided factual clarifications regarding Thailand - Cambodia border situation.

H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a working lunch, which was attended by the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, the Director-General of the Department of Information, as well as representatives from the Department of ASEAN Affairs and the Department of East Asian Affairs.
