On 24 April 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, signed the condolence book on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis at the Apostolic Nunciature (Embassy of the Holy See), where she was welcomed by H.E. Archbishop Peter Bryan Wells, Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand.
His Holiness Pope Francis was the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City from 2013-2025, as well as the first Jesuit and Latin American to hold the position. He is known for his humility, focus on social justice, and commitment to interfaith dialogue. His Holiness’s historic Apostolic Visit in 2019 helped strengthen the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the Holy See and the Thai people.
