On 7 February 2023, H.E. Mr.  Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, attended the opening ceremony of the Bangkok – Astana PR Exhibition, jointly organized by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Akimat of Astana. The ceremony was presided over in an online format by Dr. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok and Mr. Yerlan Bekmuzayev, Deputy Akim of Astana. The Bangkok – Astana PR Exhibition is being held between 7 – 12 February 2023 at the National Library of Kazakhstan in Astana and the Bangkok City Library in Bangkok. Both Astana and Bangkok established sister city relations on 11 June 2004, emphasizing their cooperation in the areas of economy, culture, tourism, urban management, environment, youth activities and agriculture.
