On 1 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic, was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of IFMA Senior World Championships 2024 at Dimitris Tofalos National Indoor Sports Hall, Patras, Greece. The Ambassador met with Thailand's Muaythai team and cheered a Thai female boxer who competed in a preliminary bout. During 1 - 9 June 2024, this prestigious event expected to welcome approximately 1,500 Muaythai boxers, coaches and staff from more than 80 member countries of International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) around the world.

Muaythai has been widely recognised and become very popular among Greeks and foreigners. Its popularity demonstrates Thailand's success in promoting this martial art filled with ancient Thai traditions as Thailand's soft power at a global scale. The Championships are supported by the Greek Government as the host country and Panhellenic Muaythai Federation (PMF) is appointed to be the organising agency.
