Songkran Celebration and the Establishment of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Office in Chicago

On April 23, 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) New York office, hosted a merit-making ceremony to celebrate the Songkran Festival and Thai New Year, as well as to mark the soft opening of the TAT Chicago Office at the consulate.

Following the religious ceremony, TAT extended a warm invitation to the Thai community representatives and strategic partners in the tourism industry to join the Songkran ceremony. The event commenced with opening remarks from Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul General. The TAT Governor then delivered remarks, highlighting the significance of the Songkran tradition and promoting the forthcoming soft opening of the TAT Chicago Office in August.
