On 23 – 24 March 2023, the Royal Thai Consulate – General in Kota Bharu organised mobile consular services at Gong Yue Shui in Gua Musan Kelantan. This two-day event was a joint collaboration between the Royal Thai Consulate – General in Kota Bharu, the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SPBAC), the Central Civil Registration Office, Ministry of Interior, Narathiwat Provincial Public Health Office and the Thai Volunteer in Malaysia in order to provide one-stop services for Thai people in Gua Musang such as issuance of new passport, legalization services, medical check-up and provision of civil registration consultation and solution.

During the event, Rear Admiral Somkeart Ponprayoon, Rtn., Secretary General of the SPBAC, visited the site and discussed with Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General to Kota Bharu, the way forward to further helping the vulnerable group of Thai people in the area. This year, Gua Musang had been chosen for the first mobile consular services due to a high number of Thais lacking access to information on the Thai civil registration and provision of basic social services.
