On August 27, 2022, H.E Mr. Paisan Rupanichakij, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico, attended the Thai Food Festival 2022 at Banyan Tree Mayakoba Hotel, Cancun, in which he delivered an opening remarks together with the hotel management team. More than 500 people attended the event, including guests staying at hotels and nearby hotels, both foreigners and Mexicans, VIP guests, companies and local media. 

The event was decorated in a Thai atmosphere, and a variety of activities were organized, including booths of more than 25 Thai foods and desserts prepared by a corporate Thai chef of Banyan Tree Hotel Group in Bangkok and local chefs from the Saffron Restaurant, a fruit and vegetable carving show by the Ambassador's chefs, as well as videos about Thailand and cultural performances jointly sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The Ambassador also gave an interview to local media about the Thai Festival and the relations between Thailand and Mexico. 

The Thai Food Festival at Banyan Tree Mayakoba is part of a series of Thai Fest organized by Banyan Tree Hotel Group in four key Mexican cities: Puebla on 18 August 2022, Merida on 20 August 2022, Cancun on 27 August 2022 and Banyan Tree Cabo Marques in Acapulco on September 3, 2022, where the Ambassador is invited to attend.
