On November 19, 2023, Consul General Somjai Taphaopong assigned Consul Phawinee Chansamran to attend the Kathina robe offering ceremony at Nawamintararachutis Temple in Raynham/Boston, Massachusetts. The ceremony was presided over by His Holiness Somdet Phra Maha Thirachan, Member of Supreme Sangha Council and the Abbot of Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (Wat Pho), Thailand, and attended by the officer from the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington D.C., the official and staff from the Royal Thai Consulate General, and Thai and local Buddhist communities.
