Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a Working Lunch for Vice President – Renewable Energy, Norfund

On 28 June 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, hosted a Working Lunch for Mr. Anders Blom, Vice President – Renewable Energy, Norfund in order to discuss about ways to promote the cooperation between Thailand and Norway on clean energy and as a follow-up on the 12th Thai-Norwegian Bilateral Consultations on 3 March 2023 in Bangkok where both sides had discussed cooperation on energy. Mr. Monsak Jangariyawong, Minister Counsellor also joined the Working Lunch.
 
Ambassador Vimolbajra exchanged views with Mr. Blom regarding ways to promote cooperation on clean energy and to move the cooperation further forward by emphasizing Thailand’s interest to learn from Norway’s expertise on clean energy technologies, particularly the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology, as well as Norwegian investment in the clean energy sector in Thailand. In this regard, Mr. Blom was pleased to consider such proposals and ways to move forward cooperation projects on clean energy, particularly Norfund’s readiness to coordinate with other relevant Norwegian agencies such as Innovation Norway to cooperate with Thailand in this field.
 
Norfund is the Norwegian Government-owned Investment Fund under the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, with its objective to invest in developing countries in order to promote sustainable development by emphasizing job creation, welfare improvement, and revenue increase for developing countries through tax. Norfund has regional offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Norfund’s regional office in Asia is located in Bangkok, Thailand since 2011 to coordinate on clean energy projects in South and Southeast Asian countries.
