Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, attended the 43rd Meeting and Turnover of Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Oslo (ACO)

On 15 December 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, attended the 43rd Meeting and Turnover of Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Oslo (ACO) in 2024 held at the Philippines Embassy in Oslo. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Enrico T. Fos, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Norway, as the current ACO Chair. H.E. Ms. Maw Maw, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Norway, H.E. Dr. Teuku Faizasyah, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Norway, and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dung, First Secretary, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Norway, and members of the ACO Working Group attended the meeting. The meeting agreed to turnover the ACO Chairmanship from the Philippines (from March 2022 – December 2023) to Indonesia which will assume the ACO Chairmanship in 2024 for the period of one year.

The meeting exchanged views about the ACO’s activities in the past two years and adopted the Report prepared by the Philippines as the Outgoing ACO Chair, and discussed workplans and activities for 2024 such as the meeting with the Norwegian Delegation to the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP) and the ASEAN’s Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and the briefing on renewable energy to be organized by the ACO in cooperation with the Singapore-Norway Chamber of Commerce (SNCC).

The Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo wishes to express our deep appreciation to H.E. Mr. Enrico T. Fos, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Norway, and his colleagues at the Philippines Embassy, for an active role as the ACO Chair for two years and for the close cooperation extended to the Thai Embassy including the ASEAN Family Day 2023. In this regard, the Embassy would like to convey our congratulations to H.E. Dr. Teuku Faizasyah, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Norway, as the Incoming ACO Chair, and offer our best wishes and support for his chairmanship. The Embassy will continue to support the ACO and ASEAN activities and to enhance our cooperation with Norway for our mutual benefits.
