During 17 – 18 April 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy welcomed Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary – General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) and the delegation who visited Italy for an Economic Roadshow in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Rome and H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, Ambassador of Italy to Thailand. The Roadshow was also attended by representatives from Board of Investment of Thailand (Paris office) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

This activity was organized with an aim to provide information on the economic potential of Thailand and the EEC as well as building confidence and attracting investment in the EEC’s targeted industries to Italian government and private sectors. The delegation had several meetings with over 50 Italian high-level executives and representatives both from public and private sectors, namely the Italian Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (Farmindustria), the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts, and Agriculture (Unioncamere), the Italian Financial Institution for Development Cooperation (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti: CDP), the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE), Leonardo S.p.A., a leading company in defense, space industry, and security in Italy, ABB SACE S.p.A., a company that develops innovations to support Industry 4.0 especially in digital technology and data analysis, and Biomedica Foscama, a company that manufactures pharmaceutical products and vaccine packaging.

Moreover, the delegation extended an invitation to interested Italian private companies to attend the 7th High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN-Italy Economic Relations, to be held during 3 – 4 October 2023 in Thailand as well as attending proposed activities by the EEC, especially the visit to the EEC site and Genomics Thailand to explore business and investment opportunities between Thailand and Italy.
