On 24 March 2023, Mr. Kim Nam-il, Deputy Mayor of Pohang City, hosted a luncheon for Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva to welcome the Ambassador on his visit to Pohang. Both sides exchanged views on topics of mutual interest such as Pohang’s main industries, especially the city’s vision to promote marine tourism, and the possibility of establishing sister city relations between Pohang and a seaside province in Thailand, as well as Pohang’s administrative and governmental structure.
