On 22 March 2023, Ambassador Witchu Vejjajiva paid a courtesy call on Mr. Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk Province. Both sides discussed various ways to enhance cooperation between Gyeongsangbuk-do and Thailand. On this occasion, the Governor proposed the establishment of sister city relations between Gyeongsangbuk Province and a province in Thailand, in which Ambassador accepted to relay to concerned authorities in Thailand to explore the possibilities.
