Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK presides over the Songkran Day Ceremony and meets Thai community at Buddharama Temple, Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do.

On 9 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, presided over the 2/2024 Songkran Day ceremony and robe offering ceremony at Buddharama Temple, Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do.

Ambassador gave alms to the monks, prayed and sprinkled water on Buddha image and met with Thai community of almost 1,000 people. A lot of Thais poured water on the Ambassador’s hands and asked for blessing during this event.

Buddharama Temple was established and supported by Thai laborers in the ROK and their families together with Koreans and other foreigners. The temple has been looked after by Korean National Police Agency and other public authorities in Cheonan. The temple also provides temporary shelter for Thai laborers in distress.
