On 23 August 2022, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, welcomed and held discussions with Asst. Prof. Rutchanee Gullayanon, Executive Vice President for Research and Innovations of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), and Dr. Non Akkaraprasertkul, Smart City Promotion Expert, Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), regarding opportunities for Thai-ROK cooperation in the digital content and smart city industries, which are the ROK’s expertise. The Thai side’s initial focus areas cover HRD in Thailand’s digital content industry, learning from the ROK’s metaverse technology, and kicking-off cooperation on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies, including their application to education.
