Thailand Trade Representative promotes increased trade & invest between Thailand and the ROK

From 17-19 November 2023, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Charge d'affaires, accompanied and facilitated the visit to the ROK of Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, Thailand Trade Representative (TTR). Dr. Nalinee held a meeting with H.E. Ahn Duk-geun, Minister for Trade of the ROK Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and discussions with Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group. Ms. Buniga Chamsai, Deputy Director-General, Department of Trade Negotiations, and Ms. Chananya Punnarugsa, Minister Counsellor (Commercial), also accompanied Dr. Nalinee during the meetings.

On this occasion, Dr. Nalinee encouraged both sides to expedite the launching of an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Thailand and the ROK, the ROK’s participation in Thailand’s Landbridge project, as well as invited Kia Corporation under Hyundai Motor Group to consider establishing EV manufacturing facilities in Thailand.
