On 2 May 2024, Mr. Piyapak Sricharoen, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, welcomed H.E. Datuk Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of the Director-General’s assumption of duty and on the occasion of the completion of duty as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially the arrangement of high-level mechanisms, and the promotion of bilateral trade, investment, tourism, people-to-people contact, as well as the progress on border development projects. The Director-General also thanked the Malaysian Ambassador for his active role in promoting bilateral relations and cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia, before congratulated him on the successful completion of his tenure as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.
