On 3 May 2024, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, welcomed H.E. Ms. Angela Jane Macdonald, Ambassador of Australia to Thailand, who paid a courtesy call and congratulated the Permanent Secretary on the assumption of her duty.

On this occasion, the Permanent Secretary and Ambassador discussed the unique, close, and constructive relations between Thailand and Australia. Both sides also discussed tangible ways to drive forward the multi-faceted cooperation the two countries share as Strategic Partners. These included the exchange of high-level visits, the Thailand-Australia Senior Officials’ Talks (SOTs) 1+1 (between the Permanent Secretaries for Foreign Affairs) and 2+2 (between the Permanent Secretaries for Foreign Affairs and Defence), as well as ways to further cooperation in economic area and in the Mekong sub-region.
