DPM/FM meets with his Myanmar counterpart, underlining support for Myanmar’s peace process and readiness to work together to scale up humanitarian aid

On 7 December 2023, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, at the sidelines of the 8th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
DPM/FM expressed appreciation for Myanmar’s assistance in the repatriation of Thai nationals from Laukkaing and reaffirmed Thailand’s goodwill towards Myanmar and support for Myanmar’s peace process. Both sides agreed to work together to scale up humanitarian assistance, which is in line with the implementation of ASEAN’s 5 - Point Consensus, for those living along the Thai-Myanmar border.
