On 15 November 2023, H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, Ambassador of France to Thailand paid a courtesy call on Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs.
Both sides discussed several bilateral, regional and global issues, for instance, Thailand-France Roadmap (2022-2024),the establishment of Wat Pho in Paris, the elevation of the bilateral relations to the Strategic Partnership in 2024, Thailand’s request for the Schengen Visa exemption for ordinary passport holders, the negotiations for the Thai-EU FTA, Thailand-France Innovation Year 2023, and cultural cooperation. Furthermore, the Ambassador expressed his sympathy for the situation in Israel and Myanmar, which has affected Thai citizens living and working in those countries.
