On 17 October 2023, H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the condolences book for the passing of H.E. Mr. László Sólyom, former President of Hungary, at the Embassy of Hungary. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was warmly received by H.E. Mr. Sándor Sipos, Ambassador of Hungary to Thailand.
H.E. Mr. László Sólyom served as President of Hungary from 2005 to 2010. Prior to his Presidency, His Excellency Mr. Sólyom was the first President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary from 1990 to 1998. He was a key figure in Hungarian politics, especially during Hungary’s democratic transition. He also played a leading role in the protection of freedom of expression and the conservation of environment.
