On 19 August 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, chaired the inter-agency preparatory meeting for the 3rd meeting of the Thailand-Egypt Joint Commission with representatives from the relevant Thai agencies from both the public and private sectors in attendance.

The meeting took note of the progress in Thailand-Egypt bilateral relations and cooperation and discussed ways to further advance concrete and mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas.

The Joint Commission serves as a bilateral consultation mechanism between Thailand and Egypt at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, covering all areas of cooperation. Both sides have agreed to convene the 3rd Meeting of the Thailand-Egypt Joint Commission with Thailand serving as host in October 2026.
