The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the outcomes of the Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting between Thailand and Cambodia that concluded today with a Joint Press Statement and notable progress on key issues.

Both sides prioritized not only issues that strengthen the ceasefire agreement reached at the previous GBC Meeting on 7 August 2025 but also critical issues that have a direct impact on the well-being and livelihoods of the people on both sides. These include, namely, agreement on humanitarian demining and joint efforts to suppress online crime and scams, as well as efforts to mitigate the impact on businesses and critical cross-border transport. The agreements reached reinforce the critical utility of the GBC as well as the Regional Border Committee (RBC) and the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) in advancing effective border management.

Thailand remains firmly committed to seeking peaceful ways toward sustainable solutions to current border issues through existing bilateral channels, while prioritizing national sovereignty and territorial integrity and the interests of the safety, security and well-being of the people, particularly in the border areas.
