On 30 September 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They exchanged views on promoting cooperation in science, technology and innovation, with particular emphasis on workforce development and strengthening Thailand’s capabilities in the semiconductor and advanced electronics industries.
Both sides exchanged views on further advancing cooperation between Thai agencies and universities in the United States, particularly in developing a highly skilled workforce, enhancing curricula and training programmes, and promoting collaboration between Thai universities and the U.S. private sector. The discussion also underscored the importance of strengthening Thailand’s capabilities in science and technology and supporting the development of the country’s semiconductor and advanced electronics industries.
