On 7 April 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, Ambassador of the France to Thailand.

Both sides discussed preparations for activities to commemorate the 170th anniversary of Thailand - France diplomatic relations this year, progress on ongoing bilateral agreements, as well as Thailand’s foreign policy direction under the new government. They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and its repercussions, which has affected both Thailand and France.

On this occasion, the French side also presented a commemorative publication to mark the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and France.
