On 24 April 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with Ms. Allison Hooker, United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, at the request of the latter.

The U.S. Under Secretary of State congratulated Thailand on the formation of the new Thai Government while both sides reaffirmed the longstanding Thai - U.S. alliance and discussed their shared commitment to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. In particular, they discussed promoting more high-level engagements, collaboration in defense and security, law enforcement, trade and addressing non-traditional security threats, particularly combating online scams, which both countries consider a shared, high priority on which they are already working closely.

Both sides also exchanged views on important developments in the region, including the Thailand - Cambodia border situation and the situation in Myanmar.
