On 15 November 2023, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, on behalf of H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Ph.D., Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, hosted a dinner in honour of H.E. Mr. Yi Lianhong, Party Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress, at The Siam Bangkok. The representatives from Thai companies investing in Zhejiang were also invited to attended the dinner.
Both sides reflected on the close ties between Thailand and Zhejiang and exchanged views on cooperation in important areas including economic matters, especially digital economy, connectivity, tourism, science, technology and innovation (STI), as well as people-to-people relations. Both sides were pleased of increased direct investments between Thailand and Zhejiang and expressed readiness to support the other side’s investors in Thailand and Zhejiang, respectively.
Mr. Yi is visiting Thailand between 15 - 18 November 2023 during his first overseas trip since assuming the current office, and also his first visit to Thailand after two decades.
