On 16 October 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as the Representative of His Majesty the King, presided over the 2023 Princess Srinagarindra Award Presentation Ceremony at the Chakri Mahaprasat Hall, the Royal Palace. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also hosted a royal tea party in honour of the laureate at the Boromrajasathitmaholarn Hall after the Ceremony. In this regard, Mrs. Tongrudee Markboon, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, represented Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the event.

This year, the Princess Srinagarindra Award is presented to Dr. Dileep Kumar Thimmappa from the Republic of India for his internationally recognized exemplary contribution towards nursing and midwifery.

Dr. Thimmappa is a leading Indian nurse with outstanding visions, commitment and dedication to nursing and the missions of the Indian Nursing Council for the past 49 years. His ardent endeavors have led to progress in nursing and midwifery education and services. The Laureate has also helped promote good well-being of the people through his collaboration with the Government of India to allocate funds to increase support and investment in nursing and midwifery, thereby transforming the work environment and safety progress of Indian nurses.

On this occasion, Mr. Natapanu Nopakun, Deputy Director-General of the Information Department on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joined an interview along with the Secretary-General and members of the PSA Foundation’s Board of Trustees, as well as representatives from the International Award Committee to extend congratulations to the Laureate.
