The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand discussed with the Swedish Ambassador to Thailand ways to enhance Thailand-Sweden relations, especially economic cooperation including Swedish investment in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and sustainable development.

On 22 March 2021, H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, met with H.E. Mr. Jon Astrom
Grondahl, the Swedish Ambassador to Thailand. Both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations including Swedish investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) of Thailand, sustainable development, wastewater management, tourism and road safety cooperation. Both sides also discussed the situation in Myanmar.
