On 28 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a pull - aside meeting with H.E. Dr. Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN–EU Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
Both sides underscored the importance of the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership. Both sides also exchanged views on the Middle East situation and impacts within and beyond the region including the impact on freedom of navigation due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
