H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, chaired the Economic Diplomacy High-Level Meeting on the China-Laos Railroad Projects on 22 Nov 2021, joined by high-ranking representatives of key government and private partners. At the meeting, which aimed at identifying a policy direction for Thailand’s economic diplomacy in materialising economic and business potential arising from the project, the Vice Minister stressed the private sector’s central role in this endeavour and the necessity to forge closer economic ties with all partners.
To this end, the participating agencies resolved to jointly push forward at national and international policy forums key relevant issues, including the development of key connecting infrastructure and economic corridors and the enhancement of a regional business-conducive ecosystem, in order to encourage cross-border investment and business partnership.
