On 4 October 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) attended the inaugural Rockefeller Foundation AsiaXchange 2023 event organized by the Rockefeller Foundation during 4-6 October 2023 in New Delhi, Republic of India, upon the Foundation’s invitation as TICA was considered its major partner in Thailand.

The Foundation organized the first iteration of this event to share its new ‘OneRF’ Strategy, emphasizing the Foundation’s shifted focus toward climate action and to network with its partners from various sectors including TICA . Resulting from the new strategy, the Foundation’s collaboration with partners in the current priority areas of the Foundation namely public health, food security, clean energy, economic opportunity, and sciences, technology and innovation will have to take into account its interlinkages with climate change. The participation of TICA stressed Thailand’s commitment to promoting sustainable development by working with all partners including the long standing partner such as the Rockefeller Foundation.

During the event, the Director-General of TICA, discussed on possible future collaborations with Ms. Elizabeth Yee, Executive Vice President on Programme and Strategy and Mrs. Deepali Khanna, Vice President, Asia Regional Office and other Foundation’s senior officers to promote sustainable development in Thailand and the region. Currently, TICA and the Foundation in partnership with Mahidol University are organizing a workshop on Climate Resilient Livelihoods Policy Alignment to share the Foundation’s new OneRF strategy with Thai agencies and developing a project on improving livelihood though green economic activities.
Both activities will be parts of activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ministry of Foreign Affairs (by TICA) and the Rockefeller Foundation in 2024.
