His Majesty the King of Bhutan grants a Royal Audience to Minister of Foreign Affairs during the visit to Bhutan to preside over the Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony

On 19 October 2025, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan granted a Royal Audience to H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and spouse as well as the delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the visit to Bhutan between 18 - 20 October 2025 to preside over the Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony at the Grand Kuenrey Hall, Tashichhodzong in Thimphu.
 
The Foreign Minister expressed his deepest gratitude for His Majesty’s graciousness in granting an audience, and also extended his heartfelt felicitations to His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan, on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s forthcoming 70th Birthday Anniversary on 11 November 2025.
 
The Foreign Minister was delighted at the close and cordial relations between Thailand and Bhutan, which have been deeply rooted in the special bonds between the Royal Families, as exemplified by the State Visit to Bhutan by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand from 25 - 28 April 2025. In addition, the Foreign Minister also expressed his great honour to welcome Their Majesties the King and Queen of Bhutan for their forthcoming visit to Thailand to graciously accept the Honorary Doctorate Degrees conferred by Chulalongkorn University in December 2025.
 
On this occasion, His Majesty the King of Bhutan shared his vision for the development of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) under the principle of “One Country, Two Systems” to become Bhutan’s economic hub, while preserving the country’s local culture and environment. The Foreign Minister reiterated Thailand’s commitment to cooperate with Bhutan on this project, as well as continuing the technical cooperation projects in Bhutan.
