On 13 June 2025 at 18.26 hours, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua graciously granted royal permission to Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to lead Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General to an audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen at Dusidalai Hall, Chitralada Villa. The Ambassadors and Consuls-General gathered in Bangkok for the 2025 Meeting of Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General held during 8 - 14 June 2025.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the purpose of the Meeting which coincides with the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Under the theme “Proactive and People-Centred Diplomacy: From Policy to Practice”, the Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General from 98 missions in 65 countries gathered to discuss about strategies and ways to lead Team Thailand abroad to effectively advance the Thai foreign policy amidst a changing world order, in line with the Thai Government’s direction.

His Majesty the King conferred royal guidance to the Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General. The gist is as follows:

1. In translating policy into practice, a number of considerations must be taken into account. The foremost foundation lies in an understanding of one’s duties as representative of His Majesty the King, the country and the Thai people, in order to foster friendly relations with other countries while protecting national interests.

2. The dynamics and situation in both Thailand and the world are rapidly changing. The Ambassadors and Consuls-General must carry out their duties promptly and cautiously, by understanding and taking into account of Thailand’s and other countries positions and situations. This will enable the Ambassadors and Consuls-General to appropriately and correctly perform their duties in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and national interests, and ultimately contributing towards the well-being of the Thai people.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King bestowed well wishes to the Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General for happiness, progress and successes in their endeavours.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is humbly grateful and deeply honoured for His Majesty the King’s gracious permission in granting a Royal Audience to the Ambassadors and Consuls-General.
