On 4 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, presided over the Songkran Festival and attended the robe offering ceremony at Buddharangsee Temple in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province. Miss Chananya Punnarugsa, Commercial Attaché, and Mrs. Kanticha Laicharernkit, Head of the Consular Section, also attended.

Ambassador Tanee participated in religious activities, including praying, offering food to the monks, and sprinkling water on the Buddha image. He also met with approximately 500 members of the Thai community who attended the event, many of whom joined in pouring water on the Ambassador’s hands as a gesture of respect and to receive his blessings.

Ambassador Tanee conveyed his well wishes for the Thai New Year to the Thai community and promoted the Embassy’s upcoming activities. These included the 10th Sawadee Seoul Thai Festival 2025 to be held during 6-7 September 2025 in Seoul and the relocation plan of the Embassy’s Consular Section to a new office building on the opposite side of the Embassy.
