On 29 May 2026, Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul-General of Thailand in Siem Reap, attended the opening art performance of the Vietnam Culture Week in Cambodia 2026 at Angkor University, at the invitation of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Consul-General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Battambang.

The event was presided over by Mr. Ly Sary, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, and attended by the Consul-General of the Republic of Korea, alongside the Heads of the Consular Offices of Japan and the People’s Republic of China. The program featured a rich variety of Vietnamese cultural showcases, including traditional dance, vocal performances, and acrobatics.

On this occasion, the Thai Consul-General gave an interview to the Vietnamese media regarding Vietnamese culture in Cambodia, as well as the close and multifaceted Thailand-Vietnam relations as Comprehensive Strategic Partners.

This was also highlighted by the recent official visit of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Thailand from 27–29 May 2026, to commemorate the milestone of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
