On 5 November 2026, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered opening remarks at the SMBC Group Thai Economy Forum 2026 at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok. The forum brought together representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as financial institutions from Thailand and Japan, to exchange views on Thailand’s economic outlook, investment opportunities, and key government policy developments.
 
The Advisor to the Minister underscored the importance of the Thailand and Japan economic partnership and proposed ways to further strengthen future cooperation. These included upgrading the Japan - Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement (JTEPA) to reflect the evolving global economic landscape, promoting cooperation on energy security and green transition, and advancing future industries and technologies, including space technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology.
