On 24 - 26 August 2025, Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, as the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the Stakeholders’ Dialogue: Takeaway to High Level Conference on Rohingya Situation in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Also in attendance were High level dignitaries including Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, and Mr. Raouf Mazou, Assistant High Commissioner for Operations, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), who delivered opening remarks and representatives from countries both inside and outside the region, international organizations, and civil society organizations.
The Deputy Director-General participated as a speaker in the Thematic Session on Challenges to Ensure Humanitarian Assistance to the Rohingyas. He reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Rohingyas, in line with Thailand’s pledge at the 2nd Global Refugee Forum (GRF) in 2023. He also expressed concern about the impact of the global humanitarian aid cuts on displaced populations in the region, and called upon the international community to provide timely humanitarian assistance and offer durable solutions for the group.
In addition, the Deputy Director-General visited the camps for Rohingya displaced persons in Cox’s Bazar to learn about the situation on the ground and the World Food Programme’s Food Assistance Outlet to which Thailand, as one of the donor countries, has provided financial support.
