On 23 November 2025, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys hosted a luncheon at the Ambassador’s Residence to strengthen networking between the Woodlife Business Thailand delegation, which includes representatives from Thai agencies within the forest-management and forest-based industry ecosystem from the public sector, private sector, academia, and civil society, and Swedish agencies whose mandates relate to the forestry industry. Mr. Natouch Thammanuruk, Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy, together with project officers from the Thailand and Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU), also joined the event.

The Ambassador welcomed the delegation and representatives from Swedish organisations, including the Swedish Institute (SI), the Swedish Forest Agency (Skogsstyrelsen), Business Sweden, and the Embassy of Sweden in Thailand. The Ambassador also expressed her appreciation to Team Sweden as the main supporter of the Woodlife Business Thailand delegation’s visit to Sweden, which aims to learn about Sweden’s forestry ecosystem, engage in academic discussions, and explore opportunities for further business collaboration. Ambassador also stressed the valuable cooperation between the Thai and Swedish Embassies that resulted in concrete projects and activities. On this occasion, Mr. Natouch and the TNIU team gave a briefing on TNIU’s roles, missions, and planned activities for both the Thai delegation and the Swedish agencies. Thereafter, representatives from Swedish Agencies also highlighted the importance of moving forward sustainable forestry management with Thailand. Participants exchanged views on concrete future cooperation. The Woodlife Business Thailand delegation is scheduled to conduct a study visit in Sweden from 23 to 29 November 2025 and is part of the follow-up to the seminar project “Jump-Start Wood City: From Local Empowerment to Global Partnerships”, which the Embassy organised in Phrae Province on 15–16 August 2025.
